About Us

Hi, my name is Randy and I am the owner/operator of Randy’s Steakhouse. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you. I began my culinary career working with the staff at the Dallas Del Frisco’s Prime Steakhouse in 1990. I joined them as a waitperson, but soon found that my true calling was in the kitchen. Del took me under his wing and trained me in all aspects of kitchen management as well as how to prepare the finest steaks and seafood. I learned the precise art of being a Sue Chef, was promoted to a Chef position and finally to Kitchen Manager. I enjoyed those years immensely.

1993 brought an opportunity to leave Del Frisco’s and venture out on my own. With the support of my family and friends I opened Randy’s Country Kitchen offering great comfort food for my customers. This venture was successful, but I soon realized that I missed those sizzling steaks and fine wine. In 1995 an opportunity presented itself when Mrs. Vivian McCallum chose to put her home on the market. She and her husband had owned the T.J. Campbell home just down the street from the Country Kitchen. The T.J. Campbell home was built in 1869 and is on the Texas Historical Registry. A perfect place for a 1st Class Steakhouse!

Again, with the help of my family and friends I purchased our current location. As stated above, our new home was built on Preston Road by T.J. Campbell in 1869 during the cattle drives to rail heads further north. Preston Road was part of the Shawnee Trail over which trail drives took longhorn herds up past Fort Gibson and Baster Springs to northern markets. In 1902, the railroad came through Collin County and the City of Frisco was established. In 1903, Mr. Campbell moved the house to Frisco. The house was constructed from lumber hauled by wagon trains from Jefferson, Texas. Now, you can imagine the expertise and care it took to transform a beautiful Victorian style home to a full service restaurant. We took the utmost care to preserve the historical aura that Mr. and Mrs. McCallum had watched over for years.

We are celebrating our 20th year in serving our North Texas patrons the finest steaks in the state.
